Dissolving the boundaries between the world and the self.

My journey began in the Mongolian steppes, where I volunteered in housing construction. I witnessed people living with spiritual richness in harmony with nature, despite having only the barest essentials.

This stood in stark contrast to the increasing mental health challenges in materially wealthy Japan, leading me to question the true nature of happiness.

To find answers, I traveled to 14 countries, including developing nations. These experiences convinced me that our "space"—the living environment—profoundly affects how we live. Aspiring to create spaces where everyone can be themselves, I moved to Canada, a leader in universal design, to study interior design.

In Vancouver, I worked on diverse projects ranging from senior living and social welfare facilities to five-star hotels and luxury high-rise condominiums.

However, at the forefront of this glamorous industry, I faced a contradiction: "commercialized beauty."

Design was often consumed as a trend, and the resident's heart was left behind in favor of standardized comfort. I realized that I, too, had been looking for "answers" outside of myself rather than within.

I believe there are as many forms of happiness and ideal spaces as there are people. This realization led me to Tommy and the tabi to manabi team. I deeply resonated with their focus on the "human axis" rooted in Japanese philosophy and decided to join them to share these universal values with the world.

Instead of fitting ourselves into pre-made "correct" answers, I envision a society where individuals face their own hearts and craft their lives with their own hands. Through interior design and the Universal Dojo at tabi to manabi, I support people in taking the first step toward constructing their own unique life philosophy.

Life is a continuous series of learning moments. Whether I am at home or abroad, I strive to live authentically while dissolving the boundaries between the world and myself.
